Description

A 9,5 cm enamel dial with Roman numerals, "Brequet" hands, 8-day movement with anchor escapement, countwheel striking on a bell, silk suspended pendulum.

Two well cast children seated before library shelves engaged in their studies.

Unlike the earlier Louis XVI clocks, the emphasis is on learning, an important idea of the time and a departure from earlier classical themes, circa 1820.
