A good French Louis XVI ormolu striking cartel clock with sweep seconds, circa 1770

17-cm enamel dial with Roman numerals, foliate pierced and engraved gilt hands and blued sweep seconds, 8-day single spring with double action movement with rare type pinwheel escapement and countwheel half hour striking on a bell, ormolu case surmounted by a decorative urn with rams heads and acanthus leaves, trailing garlands hung from the top to the sides with canted corners and trellis panels, the whole terminating in a foliate finial.
