Description

8-day weight driven movement with anchor escapement and rack Dutch half hour striking on two bells, alarm, burr walnut case.

30-cm (12 inch) wide brass dial with engraved border, silvered and engraved chapter ring with Roman chapters signed Andries Vermeulen, half hour and half quarter marks, pierced steel hands and engraved silvered alarm disc, matted centre with subsidiary seconds and apertures for date and day of the week, pierced cast foliate spandrels.

The fine burr walnut veneered case with caddy-topped hood surmounted by three giltwood urn-finials, foliate pierced wood frets below a shaped cornice with carved ornament, brass-capped front columns flanking the break-arch glazed door, long shaped trunk door with a further carved ornament and cast brass annular lenticle, aside bombe plinth raised on ball feet;
